Day #1: Travel on the Pan American Highway to San Ramón; then
through a mountain landscape over La Tigra until La Fortuna. In the Valle Escondido
there is an ornamental plant breed to visit. After lunch in La Fortuna
is a short passage over a lava field in the Arenal Aluminum National Park with wonderful
vistas of the volcano Arenal and the lake with the opportunity to relax in the thermal baths.
There are many entrances to the water for floats and non-swimmers to
explore the beautiful park. The hot water originates from the heat of
the lava because Arenal is still an active volcano. The overnight
accommodations are in a hotel with volcanic views. In good weather the opportunity exists for an additional
night time volcanic observation.
Day #2: After breakfast in La Fortuna follows a short trip via Tanque and Muelle after lot of Chile. During one approx.. there is four-hour boat travel on the Río Frío (protected area Caño Negro) to see apart from a multiplicity from birds, also Kaimane, turtles, apes, putrid animals, iguana and basilisks too.
After lunch, return to San José.
